the Evolution of Knowledge Management

Jika diibaratkan perkawinan, knowledge management (manajemen pengetahuan) saat ini sudah melewati bulan madunya. Tahun 1980 an istilah KM mulai populer. Tahun 1990 an masa bulan madu, masa gemilang KM. Kini, memasuki masa sehari-hari berbagai penyesuaian dan realita yang belum tentu indah.

Pertanyaannya, KM katanya inter-disipliner apa sebenarnya inti KM ? dan bidang ilmu apa yang dianggap paling dominan dalam riset tentang KM ?

Pemikiran-pemikiran tentang KM dan penyesuaiannya antara lingkungan eksternal dan internal ini pastilah akan mengingatkan kita pada konsep tentang sistem yang kompleks (complex system) dan mendorong ke kesimpulan bahwa KM sebenarnya ada domain teori sistem.

Contoh negara-negara yang sudah memetik hasil bulan madu KM adalah Norwegia, Finlandia, China, Jepang dan Amerika Serikat, dimana knowledge makin dipakai makin berkembang. Misalnya : Norwegia menemukan minyak dilaut dalam, Finlandia dengan industri selulernya, Amerika menuju pada hydrogen economy, dan Jepang dengan makin inovatifnya di perusahaannya, dan Cina makin subur pertumbuhan pusat2 knowledgenya.
